Hydroseeding
What is Hydroseeding?
It is a process of mixing seed, fertilizer, tackifier and wood or paper
fiber-mulch with water in correct proportions inside a tank, then
spraying the mixture onto designated lawn areas. Pro Lawn Hydroseeding
recommends using wood mulch, as it is a far superior product because it
holds the moisture longer than paper mulch. Therefore giving our
customers a superior result. Hydroseeding can be used in new
construction projects as well as, replacing old expired lawn.
Hydroseeding is a fast and easy alternative to sodding. You can have a
beautiful, healthy, durable lawn at a fraction of the cost of sodding.
Hydroseeding is widely used in the residential market in British
Columbia, Ontario, and in the USA. In fact, because of the overwhelming
success in the United States sod farms have become virtually obsolete
in some states.
The popularity of hydroseeding in Canada is skyrocketing. Customers
notice that you spray it on, and before you know it, a beautiful, more
durable lush lawn is growing. Pro Lawn Hydroseeding finds that our
customers love it and it helps solve many of the problems they face.
There are reasons hydroseeding works so well. The seed is suspended in
a nutrient rich slurry. The contact of the seed with the water in the
machine triggers the germination cycle. The mulch layer seals in the
moisture, holds the soil in place and acts like a mini-greenhouse
effect. The seed is at an ideal depth for good results. The conditions
are right to produce a lush green lawn in a very short time.
After hydroseeding, your property will have a nice green appearance
from the mulch in the spray mix. The grass should begin to come up in 5
to 7 days depending on soil temperatures and moisture. Your lawn should
be ready to mow in 3 to 4 weeks.
Hydroseeding provides flexibility for homeowners needing different
varieties of seed while at the same time being completely
environmentally friendly.

with no need to worry if the sod will take. Hydroseeding also
